You will create a package tracking system for [login to view URL] that reads a file on a web server (e.g. [login to view URL]) and reports all messages relevant to a particular trackingnumber.
Some specifications/Minimum Requirements:
1. Create a Java Applet for this problem.
2. Use a Swing window to ask for the trackingnumber
3. Use the provided code to read from a text file on the server
4. Display only those messages relevant to the trackingnumber
5. Write a problem summary page that describes how you met the requirements, and how you tried to exceed them.
6. Needs to work with websphere since that is what the user will be testing the program on. Its free to download on ibm.
Some Ideas for Extras (Do atleast 4):
· Handle invalid tracking numbers
· Allow the user to restart the search easily
· Make the program error tolerant so it catches error inputs and displays message.
· Make an attractive GUI.
· Make a help document.
In summary this project needs to be simple and should have simple coding to as much degree as possible for a student to understand but should meet all requirements that’s the most important. The rest is up to you for choice of style as long as it’s easy to understand coding wise for a very beginner java programmer. Thanks.
