Hi-Flyer Decimals - Macromedia Director 7 app needs updating

We produced an educational app in 1998 for math teachers. The program works on 32-bit Windows or Mac computers, but now needs updating for 2012. We need a programmer to change or add four items: 1. Add an on-screen keypad to enter numerical digits using on-screen clicks as an alternative to using the computer keyboard. 2. Insert new copies of "About pages" with updated information 3. Add capability to select the "language version" to be used 4. Re-compile for use with Windows 7 32- & 64-bit and Mac OSX (latest) The programmer will be given access to the existing finished app as a reference, and all original Director 7 files. ## Deliverables The existing app needs 3 items changed or added: **1) Add an on-screen keypad with buttons for each digit 0-9 and decimal point** The app shows numbers between 0.000 and 10.999, with various ways to show a number. The user can currently enter a number by clicking a button next to the number symbol box and then typing on the computer keyboard. The update we need will display an on-screen numerical keypad when the above-mentioned button is clicked. The user will enter the desired number by clicking on individual number digit buttons and then clicking an 'OK' button. The app restricts entry of numbers to those which are permitted according to current settings: * ones and tenths only (eg, 2.8) * ones, tenths & hundredths (eg, 5.93) * ones, tenths, hundredths and thousandths (eg, 6.729) The new numerical keypad needs to restrict the entry of these places, so that entry of digits is prevented once the maximum places are entered. The attached 2 graphics show the normal view of the app and an annotated view showing a mock-up of the keypad we require. **2) Insert new copies of "About pages" with updated information** The app has two information pages which now have outdated information. Correct data will be supplied to be entered into these two pages. **3) Add capability to select the "language version" to be used **The app is currently available for three ways of speaking numbers: English, Australian and American. These are compiled as three separate versions of the app. In the revised, new app, we will have a single app with the option to change the language to be used. This involves changes to: * audio recordings to be played - English/Australian/American * how numbers are written in words - American version does not have "and" in a number like "two hundred and fifty" * How the numbers are played as audio recordings - American version does not include "and", as described above This change will require the addition of an extra menu option to select the language version. ** 4) Re-compile for use with Windows 7 32-bit & 64-bit and Mac OS (latest)** The app currently works on 32-bit Windows computers, but not 64-bit Windows 7. The app needs re-compiling to work on all current Windows and Mac operating systems. The files to be supplied at the conclusion of the job will include: * revised "raw" Director files * Xtra files * Compiled installation files for all operating systems (Windows 32, Windows 64, Macintosh) I will supply the following files to the successful bidder prior to the commencement of the project: * original Director files * graphics for installation program * audio recordings * app graphics * Director Xtras files * New text to be inserted into info pages
