I have a platform that needs to be raised vertically for storage to take up less space. The platform is 6x8ft and weighs around 350 lbs. [login to view URL] The cable ends that lift and lower the platform, are to be attached to the edges of the wooden at the bottom. The platform will lower down to ground level, even with the bottom of the platform when vertical. An over head garage torsion bar (to counterbalance the swing weight of the door) with end mounted cable hubs will be connected to a garage door opener motor (jackshaft), to spin the torsion shaft & cable hubs, which will (attach to the outter ends of the wooden sheath, connected to the bottom of the aluminum ramp) reel the door up/down. This will allow the ramp and sheath to move up/down (hinged) via remote (garage door button).
