Hi there, good day It sounds like a great project to model, I'm an Architect and I have a lot of experience working in this way because it's the main thing architects do to sell a project (create great visualizations of the space we design), because of my degree when you provide the dimensions and proposed design, I can handle it better than just people that model right away; I'll give you back some great 3d Renders of your patio; The way I'll work is: I'll model it in Trimble SketchUp, then render it with Vray and Post Process the Image in Photoshop (to add character and depth to the image); If you provide some images of the place you're making the modifications I can make a photomatch in photoshop, so your visualization is the more accurate you can get.
