I am modifying a ASR-33 teletype. The heart of my system is a Arduino. The Arduino will need to capture asynchronous serial and parallel ASCII data and then transmit that data back out using asynchronous serial data. The serial ASCII in is 11 bits: 1 Start, 8 bits data, 1 Stop, and 1 Parity bit. The parallel ASCII is 9 bits. 8 data bits, 1 clock bit. Currently the Arduino will not do anything with this data other than pass it back out. The parallel data must be received and sent back out as serial framed with start, stop, and parity bits asynchronously. The 11 bit serial data in can be inverted (0 to 1 and 1 to 0) and sent back out without any processing. This gig requires programming only and you do not need to design any of the electronics. I will specify the pins being used and that is the extent of interfacing you need to deal with. This project is a Xmas gift so this needs to be programmed before Xmas. I expect that for a knowledgeable programmer this is 2 - 4 hours of work. I will pay a $50 minimum for completed work and an additional % for prompt service. More details available on request. You will be working with someone who works with electronics on a daily basis and has basic programming abilities with Arduino.
