The Logitech MX610 mouse: [login to view URL],CRID=2135,CONTENTID=10917 has lights to indicate new email and IM messages waiting, but only works with Microsoft clients that I do not use. I want a program that will let me control the lights at will from my Windows XP machine. It should come in, at minimum, a command line client that will alter the light status at run time. A similar program exists, for linux, from [login to view URL] . Download at: [login to view URL] That software is GPL, and I am comfortable with a piece of GPL software based on it. I am comfortable with a manual type-settings-in-an-ini file type of set up for locating the device, but finding it automatically would be a bonus. I strongly prefer a completely standalone executable that requires no installation. Integration with Thunderbird for email and Gaim for IM would be wonderful, but is probably a separate project.
