I have an Excel 2003 spreadsheet that compares three real property appraisals. I need two funcitionally idendical formulas that will select the correct calculation from one of three columns.
Formula 1: Cell C43
* Find the highest value in the range C34:E34
* In the column with the highest value divide row 34 / row 3 expressed as a percentage
* If the high value is the same in two or more columns, then do the calculation on the column with the smallest value in row 3 of the columns with that higher value.
Formula 2: Cell C44
* Find the highest value in the range C35:E35
* In the column with the highest value divide row 35 / row 3 expressed as a percentage
* If the high value is the same in two or more columns, then do the calculation on the column with the smallest value in row 3 of the columns with that higher value.
To the right of the form (not printed) are the possible values for C43 and C44 respectively. This just a tool to math check the calculations. But the answer that appears C43 must equal one of the values in F43:H43. This done by a visual check, not a formula. Likewise the answer in C44 must be one of the values in F44:H44.
