I have experience of linking Access to MySQL and encountered serious performance issues which I overcame. I suspect that you are uploading the Access database from the MySQL end and that during the upload, the website using the MySQL database grinds to a halt. If this is the case, have you considered getting the Access database to post the data to the MySQL database a little bit at a time? An Access synchronisation application could be written which uses a timed event to periodically read a batch of records form the Access data source and update/append them in the MySQL database. For this to work, the system running the application would have to be able to make a live ODBC connection to the MySQL database Whether this is achievable within your $100 budget will depend upon the complexity of the data being transferred. To provide a realistic estimate I would need more information about the data before accepting the project. If I cannot meet your requirement within the proposed budget, I will not accept the project and neither of us will lose any reputation. If you would like consider this approach, please message me with further details.

It sounds as if MySQL may not have the proper indexes for the data being loaded. I have run into this before with access to MySQL.
