Joomla site and browser plugin to create a mashup

We need a supplier that can deliver the following: 1)? A secure and scalable Joomla-based community web site that includes single sign-on functionality that will allow users to log in to other web sites that we may own in the future. 2)? A FireFox plugin that implements a mashup and which will be made available through the Joomla community site mentioned in (1) and on other 3rd party websites such as CNET. Further Information: -? The mashup is based on an existing freeware implementation for which we can provide significant technical detail including links to the source code. -? The freeware implementation mentioned above is a FireFox plugin.? FireFox is also our priority but we want to port the solution to Internet Explorer within weeks of the initial launch, with other browsers to follow soon afterwards. -? All users of the plugin will have to register but we do not want the Joomla site to be the only place to get the download.? Therefore both the Joomla site and the plugin will implement the same registration/login feature and will share user credentials in the database.? The freeware implementation mentioned above uses a similar approach. -? There will be a screen scraping exercise to provide the initial data population. -? There will be a need to implement automated test scripts in selenium. -? There will be a need to provide ongoing development support within an agreed contract. **Important Note:** The quotation will cover the initial delivery of both the website and the plugin as well as the support.? However there is a lot of further work planned so the supplier must be able to commit to a long-term roadmap of work delivered in agile increments. **Technical Requirements:** The supplier must have in-house expertise in the following: Php5, MySQL (ideally with experience of clustered configurations), javascript, html, xpath, css, linux, browser plugin development experience (e.g. xpcom), Joomla and Selenium. **Timescale:** As soon as possible.? Please provide details of availability. ## Deliverables At this stage we are setting out? our high level technical and contractual requirements so that potential suppliers can decide whether they can meet our needs.? We do not expect potential suppliers to be able to give a fixed price quotation based on the level of detail that we have provided here.? Once we have a shortlist of potential suppliers we will provide a much more detailed specification of what we need so that a fixed price quotation can be generated. **Process:** We are looking for a supplier that can provide a structured process that will provide: - A bug tracking system that we can see and raise bugs in. - Frequent progress reporting. - Communication through a single person (i.e. a project manager). **Supplier Profile:** For all potential suppliers we need to know: Company Name: Company location: Number of employees: First year of business: Suppliers will need to provide relevant work examples that show: - Experience of developing ad-supported sites using OpenX integration (or similar). -? An ability to work with other sub-contractors (e.g. security testing specialists). -? Excellent English language skills (both written and oral). -? ? Technical competence to develop plugins and port them between browers. -? Configuration, customisation and integration of Joomla plugins for a community-based site to cover functionality such as: forums, social networking, social bookmarking, microblogging feeds, blogs, analytics, search boxes, newsletter (subscription and delivery) etc.? Where such functionality has been implemented please specify which Joomla extensions have been used. **Contractual Requirements:** The supplier must be willing to: -? Give us all intellectual property rights to any solution that is produced. -? Sign up to a non-disclosure agreement. -? Provide a service-level agreement (SLA) for fixing bugs. Payment restrictions: -? We are looking for fixed-price quotations only. -? All payments will be made via escrow. -? No up-front payments will be made but we will directly purchase any items that are needed for the implementation to progress (e.g. SSL certificate, chargeable Joomla extensions, hosting accounts etc). -? Staged payments can be made but will be conditional upon successfully achieving the agreed milestones. **Timescale:** As soon as possible.?
