UI/UX Designer with Learndash and WordPress Experience

Background: [login to view URL] is an online 'community of practice' for public policy professionals interested in applying modern data science tools and techniques to public policy analysis. We also provide online data analysis training tailored for public policy professionals, consultants, and researchers. As well as bespoke consultancy services and industry-specific training related to applied policy analysis. [login to view URL] needs a talented and experienced UI/UX designer to help us revamp our website and learning platform. My primary goal for the project is to have a cohesive set of designs, style guidelines and plans (e.g. wireframes etc) that can be used by a Wordpress developer to redesign the website. Ownership and copyright of all outputs will be relinquished to me at the end of the project. Focus areas: - Develop a new design for the website that features a consistent, professional and logical structure - Optimize website layout to enhance user flow and information delivery on website, course and menus - Streamline UI such as by eliminating unnecessary elements to streamline the user journey. - Incorporate a review section on individual course webpages to increase credibility. - Highlight Instructors and consultants: Design a section to showcase instructor and consultant profiles with comprehensive information, building authority and trust. - Enhance Mobile Experience: Ensure course modules are responsively designed for optimal mobile user interaction. - Play a key role in our logo redesign process, aligning it with our educational and professional ethos. Requirements: - An eye for design, particularly in the corporate, thinktank and academic sector - Learndash and WordPress Expertise: Demonstrable experience in UI/UX design within Learndash and WordPress platforms. - Portfolio Showcase: A strong portfolio demonstrating impactful UX improvements and creative UI designs. - Responsive Design Skills: Proficiency in designing adaptable interfaces for various devices, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and WordPress-specific tools and plugins. Bonus Points: - E-Learning Experience: Prior involvement with educational websites or online learning platforms. - UX/UI Insight in E-Learning: Deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in e-learning UX/UI design, particularly for Learndash - A sense of style that is attractive to academia, corporate consulting and government Key Outputs: - Design Mockups: Detailed visual representations of what the redesigned pages will look like, including color schemes, typography, and layout. - Website wireframes: outlining the layout and structure of web pages. - Content Layout Designs: Design layouts for content-heavy page - User-journey map / storyboard: from initial contact through various interactions to goal completion. - Site map: Outlines of the website’s structure, necessary for organizing content and planning navigation in the redesign - Style guide: detailing design standards, including colors, typography, and other elements for brand consistency - Design standards: A set of design standards and components to ensure uniformity across the website. - Technical requirements to implement the outlined changes, such as Wordpress plugins, Learndash addons and themes. Additional info: - I'm happy to be guided by the expertise of the selected freelancer. - I have a list of problems that I'm hoping to address with the redesign which I'll share - My core aim of this project is to develop a set of outputs that can be implemented by a web designer using Wordpress / Learndash. - I already have some example websites, themes and styles that I can provide as input to help guide the project. I'm not expecting anything particularly complicated, I just want somebody with a keen eye and design skills to help me develop a plan for making the website look more professional and user friendly - I'm in the process of hiring a designer to develop a set of themes and logos for the website that will be used as input for this. - I don't mind if you use AI to help with the work, but my priority is to find someone that has real talent / experience in UI / UX design. - I have flexibility with the budget, so please be honest with what you can provide / the price. It's a small business, but I know good talent costs money. - I don't want a generic design that has been lifted from a template. So, please don't provide cliche templates / examples to illustrate your experience
