I need some to help me found the best algorithm for optimization problem. Allocation/distribution of people in different building with criteria - Time of travel minimization (min. average in per building - Quota per building (max people allowed in the same building Tables I have (example) : 1) List of people with their addresses 2) For all addresses in the city, time of travel to different buildings (Building A 10', B 18', ...) 3) List of buildings with quotas (Building A 500 peoples, B 730 peoples, C 240, ... I need either a solution for Microsoft Excel SOLVER or the Mathematic's formula/algorythm that I could implement myself in a JAVA program.

Hello, From the brief description it seems you need help with some form of network flow problem. However depending on the complexity of the problem we may need to use meta heuristics. Either way this seems like a problem that could be solved over a weekend. Once the mathematical problem has been formulated, programming becomes much easier. I have solved several of there problems using a language called Ampl. It scales much easier than Excel. However I have no issues implementing the formulation in Excel. Please let me know if you need any more information.
