Build a data integrity website -- 2

Concept: For a hardware store, want to create a tool that will allow us to see our inventory list in a web form, so we can filter through our various departments/categories and confirm that items have been assigned the right classification in our legacy POS system. Close to 30k items, and more added weekly Inputs: - [dynamic] an excel file (attached) of my inventory in a store - [static - but editable on webserver] a folder of images, where files are labelled using the image SKU (item number) - [static - but editable on webserver] a mapping of department code and department name (eg. Dept AA = "Plumbing") - [static - but editable on webserver] a mapping of class code and class name (eg. Class AAA = "Sanitaryware") - [static - but editable on webserver] a mapping of fineline codes and fineline name (eg. Fineline AAAAA = "Toilets") "item number (SKU), price, department, class and fineline"....and more columns which will be needed for future extensions of the project form part of the excel Department, class and fineline are ways of classifying the items. Finelines are within a class. Classes are within Departments. We have about 30 different departments, and several classes and finelines within them. Fineline is not always populated - but this tool that we will be developing will help us identify and fix those so we classify items correctly I have a folder with images ( jpeg, png or gif) - it should be editable via ftp to add new images should the need arise and the tool detect any new images instantly Requirement: Looking to viewing all items within a fineline, where we can navigate to the finelines using a tree like below. Click a node on the tree, and it will show you all the items that are part of that node and children nodes. Want to view the data provided in the excel in grid or list format but with the tree as filtering feature and image assigned to the item if it exists Department A -- class AA ---- fineline AAA ---- fineine AAB -- class AB ---- fineline ABA ---- fineline ABB Department B -- class BA ---- fineline BAA ---- fineline BAB The idea is to make sure items are in their right classification. Visually seeing these items (grouped up) is easier than just looking at text. So, as an example, if I found a plumbing fitting in the same fineline of screws, I would know something is wrong. Therefore this is a tool we will build to fix the data in our current system, but this tool allows us to see the data in a more visually friendly manner In order to track completed work (classification of items), you would need to add a flag on your database (editable on the website) indicating whether the item has been manually "checked off" and is known to be in the right classification. This flag should be editable on the website per item and remembered in "memory" When loading the page (list of items) we should be able to filter the data, whether we want to see "all items", only "checked off items" or "only non checked off items". This data must be maintained on the website (separate database) and memory remembered since the excel file (input file) will be edited in a different system and be different everyday, but our new data integrity website must be able to remember what items have been checked off and notice what items are new (and hence not checked off yet) Web tool, should have a link to be able to upload the latest version of the excel file so that the data can be analyzed, and classified correctly (for any new items) Always happy to discuss requirements further
