Summary Description: This position is a combination of a Virtual Executive Assistant along with a bit of outbound sales/pitching. You will primarily assist with 4 broad categories of tasks: 1. “Pitching” (Proposals): Writing proposals/pitches to connect with speaking engagements Writing proposals/pitches for consulting at companies Writing proposals/pitches to persuade individuals to commit to an interview Warm calls to previous clients to rebook me as a speaker/consultant 2. Communications: Contacting and scheduling interviews Point person for communications with events, conferences, etc. (getting paid, getting details of prior events, post-event feedback, etc.) Reaching out to clients with thank you notes, birthday wishes, etc. 3. Research: Finding new opportunities for speaking (conferences, events, etc.) Finding new guests for interviews Drafting interview questions Conduct specialized research for new books Some minor proofreading Helping create and collate audience surveys 4. “Management”: Working with my Personal Assistant to arrange travel & accommodation Keeping me on track and focused (managing my time so that I do what I should) Helping manage relevant social media accounts Partially managing my email About me: My name is Jeremy, and I’m an entrepreneur who has built a few businesses, and I’m growing another company now. More interestingly for you, I’m beginning to do more speaking, consulting, and writing. Your primary job will be to help me build this venture. Obviously, I will be heavily involved, but I need someone who can - over time - start taking over the pitching, communication, coordination, and some of the research and management. Most relevantly, I am personally (and broadly) driven by the need to create more curiosity, excellence, and playfulness in the world. That includes, for instance, working on a diverse set of projects: (a) speaking about shifting social “narratives” that drive how people interact with businesses, governments, and each other; (b) working on a book about new ‘standards’ of excellence across diverse areas like food, marketing, art, etc.; and (c) producing a show (Curious) that chases curiosity for its own sake, from cryptocurrency to the history of magic. Ultimately, I am seeking someone who can stay excited about helping to create more curiosity, excellence, and playfulness in the world. Requirements: Hours: 10-20 Hours / Week (may quickly evolve to a full-time position) Various tasks may need to be done on the same day that I communicate them to you, so a flexible schedule is necessary. There are no specific hours, but you must have some availability during weekday working hours. Experience: 1+ Year Experience as Executive Assistant, a Sales/Marketing Assistant, or a Research Assistant (so long as you have experience writing proposals/pitches) Languages: Fluent in English Strong Plus: Experience in booking speaking engagements and/or consulting. Or, conversely, experience in a role where you were constantly being “pitched.” Desired Qualities, Knowledge, & Skills: Excellent at pitching or selling to events, companies, and/or organizations. You must enjoy and be great at writing proposals that get to the heart of what event planners and companies most want to pay for. Curiosity. I work on a wide range of topics, including the history of thought, shifting cultural narratives, cryptocurrency, excellence in food, etc. You must have a strong drive to learn and explore. You must be looking for a long-term partnership, not just a temporary job. I’m looking for someone who wants a permanent position - and growing involvement - in helping me build new and exciting projects. I believe I am well-suited to the position because my skills perfectly match the skills needed for this job. I have been a virtual assistant for two (2) years now and have done a variety of tasks for executive clients such as email management, calendar scheduling, travel planning, purchasing and some customer support via email. I also do basic social media management and mainly HR tasks such as recruitment and employee engagement. Hello Jeremy. I am currently an assistant manager for the editing and SEO department of a French company and have been working for 8 years now on a full-time basis. I have just finished my degree in Marketing and Communication on a full-time basis as well. Yup – I have both been working and studying full-time. Recently, I have been working as an event coordinator on a part time basis for a well-known dance group in Mauritius, performing for corporate events, weddings and Government functions as well. I am now looking for new opportunities and challenges and after reading the description, I feel that this could be it, starting from 10-20 hours a week and then evolving into a full-time position! Writing much about how I fit the 4 categories of tasks would be a waste of time because I believe that you’d best be able to judge if I do by having a first contact with me – maybe through a chat? Furthermore, if I am applying in the first place, there is already 50% chances I fit the job requirements (considering we are able to make only 8 bids per day!).
