Trades Reconciliation

The goal of this project is to create a tool that helps in reconciling a list of trades from a Trade Activity Report (a simple excel worksheet from Bear Sterns) with other trades listed on a worksheet in Imagine format. The reconciliation is essentially performed on the product code, the price, the quantity and possibly an expiration date.

The tool (most probably done in VB) takes the Bear-Sterns Trade Activity Report and the Imagine export as input and generates an excel output that classifies the trades:

- fully matched trades (the product exists in both sources and has the same price and quantity)

- partially matched trades (matched either the quantity or the price)

- unmatched (existing in one report only) As codes for identical products are usually different on both sources the tool needs to be able to translate them (mapping will be provided as an excel worksheet).

The tool needs also to handle differences in the format of the prices: the prices may be labelled in USD or in cents, in which case the indicated price needs to be divided by 100 to match the other source.

Another difficulty is that trades in Bear Sterns are a compacted view of Imagine list of trades: one row from the Bear Sterns source is usually broken down into several positions on the Imagine source (needs to sum up the quantities on the Imagine source in order to match Bear Sterns output).

Sample input and output files are attached to this project, as well as a mapping between Bear Sterns and Imagine product codes.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
