Database import tool

I need a little program that would import data from a text file (or excel, or something else, i'm not sure what it will finally be) into a database used by the software "automotix". I will create the source file(s) by scanning a catalog and the using OCR software like Abby Finereader or some other OCR. You can take a look at a sample page from this catalog at <[url removed, login to view]> and point to the folder "public", there will be an image called "[url removed, login to view]". You can make an idea on how the resulting text file will be.

This data will have to be imported into the software "automotix" which you can download from <[url removed, login to view]> . You would have to install this software on your computer and find out how and where it keeps its database. You will be a buyer and a seller. In the navigator pane on the left side you will see "my catalog". Try creating a few records to get a feel on how it works.

If you're looking at the sample page I provided above, you will see the different columns. "Part number" will go into automotix's "stock #" field. "List price" will go into automotix's price field. "Replaces [...]" will go into "OEM #". The lines in the "description" column will have to be split ("decoded") and used to fill in teh various fields under vehicle information and part information sections. Other fields will be filled in with default values.

## Deliverables

1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):

a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.

b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.

3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
