I require a Wiki extension (MediaWiki 1.6.8+) to be created from an existing GNU Javascript that runs an image slideshow.

You will require a knowledge of Wiki extensions, described at and probably your own Wiki in which to create and test it.

The JavaScript Slideshow is described at

A new Wiki tag [slideshow pic="dir/" .. ][/slideshow] will be defined. (note that HTML tags are not allowed in this description, hence the use of [ .. ] )

You will need to find the best way to use the new [slideshow ..] tag as Wikis do not allow the direct insertion of Javascript in edited pages.

The resulting Wiki extension will be made available to anyone who wants it, also under the GNU license,

Images for the slideshow should be specified in one of two ways (1) As a regular URL (2) In Wiki file format, eg. Image: (where the displayed image is used, rather than the uploaded larger image).

It is NOT required to recreate the "Slideshow Wizard" that creates the slideshow.

Ian Tresman
