The project was about designing and developing a new web based (using open source technologies) information system for the automated certification of students, data mining on the results, knowledge management and more. The project was under the supervision of the Greek Secretariat of Research and Technology. [Technologies used: PHP, MySql, JavaScript, CSS, XHTML] • 09/2003 – 08/2004: Helpdesk, maintenance and development of a web based information system for the certification of students. CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE 2nd Panhellenic Conference of Artificial Intelligence 10th Panhellenic Conference of Informatics (PCI 2005) PRESENTATION OF A PROJECT AT A CONFERENCE At the 10th Panhellenic Conference of Informatics (PCI 2005) I presented a project I was working on at the University. The abstract of the submitted paper follows: ASPIS: An automated information system for certification and analysis of examination process. ([login to view URL]) Abstract. One of the innovations that the usage of Internet has introduced is distance learning. Along with distance learning came distance certification. While there are organizations that support the certification process, this is limited in Greece and not flexible. In this paper we present a case study of a system that automates the certification process. The system proposed takes into account various learning parameters and makes use of the feedback of the process with the help of the data mining of the certification results. Here, we describe processes necessary for distance certification, the system itself and we present some results of the data mining we applied on the systems preliminary data.
