This project was a landing page that was in dire need of modernization, but without straying too far from the original design.

The existing page was mainly a large, bit-mapped picture consisting of smaller images. Each one took you to another site. It was definitely NOT responsive in any way.

Css Grid was used to create a more flexible layout. The same images used to create the original bitmap were used individually, with another one or two added when the device width is very narrow. The net result was a responsive, up-to-date looking site that still retains the hint of the Dutch artist Modrian in the styling. Almost everything from the original page remains. It still has the same look and feel. But it's now responsive across all device sizes. Even the way each menu item is highlighted when the cursor is over one of the images was retained.

Web Page Design and Implementation for Music Label

VBA based systems to provide evaluations and grades to students. Selecting a grade for each of multiple categories allows the instructor to output a Microsoft Word document for each student that contains verbal descriptions for each of the categories. This is provided on a lesson by lesson basis. A numeric grade is also calculated for output to the document. XML files store each week's evaluations as well as the supporting data (which is also input via this system).

VBA Based Student Assessment, Feedback, and Grading Systems

JAVA WORK INCLUDES:

O-Air: The Origami Air Mail Envelope-Letter: A Java Swing application that allows the user to enter the name and address of the sender and recipient, write a letter to them, print it, then fold it into an air mail style letter-envelope. It's an alternative to purchasing air mail envelope-letters that are folded and glued. It offers complete control over fonts and font sizes, and placement of the addresses on the envelope. An MS Word template version is also available.

TV Guide Program: Enhancement to Xml TV listing application to allow the selection of favorite shows based on whether a specific actor, director, producer, or writer worked on it. This is a complex TV guide program that downloads Xml listings from the internet, formats them, and presents them in a browser-type application. The enhancement allows your selection of favorites to be based on what actor was in it, as opposed to only the title of a specific program. The favorites are marked in blue.

Java Developement and Enhancements

Php, MySql, and JavaScript enhancements and bug fixes for hockey league web site. Enhancements included new team and player pages, additions to player statistics, and a sophisticated method of querying data periodically to detect milestones in a player's career (like scoring his 50th goal) to generate an entry on the web page announcing it.

Implemented various enhancements used by several high volume graphic image sites. These included: A nested comment and voting system, login and registration via Twitter and Facebook, and the integration of a cropping plugin to create members' avatars.
