Fix php errors after php upgrade for x-cart website

Our old x-cart website is throwing some errors after our server was upgraded. Some errors include:
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/sitename/public_html/sitename/[url removed, login to view] on line 240
enable register_long_arrays in [url removed, login to view]
Warning: Illegal string offset 'mode' in /home/sitename/public_html/sitename/var/templates_c/%%99^99D^99D5CCA3%%[url removed, login to view] on line 3
We can provide the website name if necessary, we attached one file giving the error although there may be a few more if you browse around, we are not sure. We've fixed similar php errors after other upgrades and they seemed to be pretty straightforward and quick to fix so we are thinking this will be similar. Please see attached screenshot and one working file.
