I'd like a one-panel cartoon showing a humorous interpretation of a scene from Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness," about a Miskatonic University Antarctic Expedition in 1931. Two characters are flying through a high pass in the mountains, when one of them sees something eldritch and "unnamable" and screams in horror, startling the pilot. In the story he screams "Tekeli-Li! Tekeli-Li!" but I'd like to substitute something a bit more realistic, i.e.: "Holy !@#$! What the %^&* is THAT!?!"
Both characters are in period flying gear (leather flight suits and helmets with goggles). POV is from directly ahead with everything ahead of the cockpit removed (see reference photo from "Airplane!"). I did a rough illustration of how I'd like that to look. BTW the black "lollipops" are supposed to represent the control yokes.
This version of the aircraft has an enclosed cockpit, but I've attached photos of the open-cockpit version to show what the panel and controls look like.
