This is what we would like for the software to be able to do.
1. To be able to scan a paper menu or grab an online menu and mark up the pricing by a percentage amount.
Example: Menu price for a small fry is $2.50.
(We will be able to input a percentage amount of any desired amount, in this case we will use 25%)
The software copies the menu and changes the pricing to $3.13. (rounding up)
2. Accounting:
There will be several aspects of the accounting we will need separated in each transaction.
There is a total amount the client pays, that gets paid out to several different 3rd party vendors.
People who get paid out:
1. The actual restaurant: We take 15% from the original menu price, they also get the sales tax on that order, and we need to subtract the 3% merchant fee on the total order plus tax.
2. The merchant gets 3% off the total order
3. Doordash get the delivery fee
4. We get .60 per transaction
5. What ever is left is considered our profits.
Example:
Customer pays a total of $89.55
$75.00 in food items
$6.5625 sales tax (8.75%) off the total of $75
$7.99 delivery fee
$89.55 total paid by customer
Back office distribution:
$75.00 in food items minus 40% ($30) to platform= $45.00 to rest.
(Then the sales tax need to be added separately to the $45 total)
$45 x 8.75%= $3.94 taxes
Total to restaurant is $45 in food + $3.94 taxes = $48.94 total payout to rest.
Then 3% merchant fees need to be subtracted from the total payout.
$48.94 - $1.47 (3%)= $47.47 paid to restaurant.
$7.99 delivery minus 3% merchant fee
$7.99- .24= $7.75 paid to merchant
A .60 cent fee will be charged on each transaction (blindly)
The software will need to be able to separate all of this internally.
So we know who to pay what, and show the restaurants food items ordered with sales tax and merchant fees, broken down.
Total collected: $89.75
-$45.00 to rest. owner
-$3.94 taxes to rest. owner
-$1.47 to merchant from rest. owner total (total to merchant off of total order will be $2.6925)
-$7.75 to Doordash minus merchant fee
.60 fee per transaction
Net profit: $29.76
