I graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) in 2015, majoring in Electrical and Electronics Engineering(EEE).
As part of my course requirement, I took up my internship at TUV SUD PSB. I was in charge of coming up with automated solution for testing applications. The transition from abstraction of thoughts to seeing such abstractions coming up to live propelled me to venture my career in the area of technology, particularly in the area of software development.
I started off working as a software engineer at Singapore Technologies (ST) Electronics (Info-soft) for a year, where I was involved in the development of natural disaster prediction system.
Following which I took up another role of software developer in National Computer System as an external contractor, particularly in the area of Java development, using j2ee, where I worked in the area of application support on content management system, helping the client to troubleshoot software issues, and also to include other functionalities as required from the clients.
It was through my former employer, FDM, where my journey to automate software testing took off. I was attached to one of FDM's client, DBS, where I got the chance to utilize my technical skills gained from my training at FDM, During my stay with DBS, I was exposed to various test automation suite that helped facilitate the overall testing phases. I also got the very chance to utilize UNIX command to perform file operations required for file comparisons, as well as to assist in the re-provisioning of server for the test automation. I also got this very chance to be a part of administrator for Jenkins to manage overall access rights for testers and users.
Upon the end of my stay with FDM and DBS, I bring these skillset with me to Taiger, where I got this very chance to explore other various test automation suite. I saw the benefits of using Cypress framework that can easily automate most of the modern web applications. I also got this chance to get a good hands-on experience with Performance testing tool ,JMeter, as well as Microfocus Loadrunner.
