Web Application Tester

YOUR RESPONSE MUST ADDRESS THE STATED SKILLS AND EXPERTISE REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE We are looking for an individual to remotely collaborate with a team focused on the development of a community and marketplace web application which makes it easy for you to earn money by selling your valuable knowledge and expertise. The application is being prepared for Alpha/Beta testing imminently. The Web Application Tester (WAT) strives to test and break code constantly; in doing this, they are ensuring the application maintains the highest quality possible. The WAT tightly partners with software development team to create both code and tests concurrently with product development. They will help ensure that code is written to be testable and that appropriate testing occurs at all levels of the product. The WAT will assist in the build of a testing/CI environment to enable automation and regression testing. With an extensive technical expertise and knowledge in both web development and automated functional/acceptance testing, the WAT is an integrated part of the scrum team. Typical Job Day • Pair with development to ensure highly testable, using a Behaviour Driven Development approach • Pair with development to design & implement automated behaviour & acceptance tests for modules and features being developed • Participate in Agile SCRUM activities: sprint planning, daily scrums, communicating with the Product Owner to understand requirements • Write automated unit tests, behaviour tests and acceptance tests as necessary to extend the suite of tests covering the product • Participate in code/design review process, with an eye to the reliability and testability of the code, the completeness of the automated tests, and the achievement of the non-functional requirements • Participate in the imminent Alpha/Beta testing phase/process with selected potential customers as part of a feedback loop Skills and Expertise Must have solid experience testing via both Manual and Automated methods and concepts Solid knowledge of Protractor testing framework and working with page objects. If you don’t master this, please refrain from applying. · Solid knowledge of Atlassian’s Bamboo Continuous Integration platform. All automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end) will be run inside Bamboo, so this is a key requirement. If you don’t master this, please refrain from applying. · Experience with the leading testing tools such as Selenium · Experience with Atlassian JIRA · Experience with programming language a key advantage (e.g. PHP, Java, AngularJS) and web services/APIs · Must have solid experience with TDD, BDD, and desirably ATDD · Ability and experience designing and implementing test harness frameworks · Skill at precision questioning; then extending the questioning by diving into coding (ask the why's, what's and how's of the functions and features under test) · Experience of Cross Browser testing, including testing a responsive website across device types · Experience working in an agile team producing rapid iterations of products · Experience with capacity estimation · Have 4+ years of commercial QA/Testing experience working on transactional websites using a LEMP/LAMP stack You are required to answer the following questions when submitting a proposal: 1.
