We are looking for a developer to rebuild our magazine website on a CMS platform, and assist the migration and implementation of the redesign. The chosen developer will ideally be based in London in order to meet with us and assist our favoured designer with template production and implementation. The site has been operating in its current state for around five years and has around 1000 pages of content. Many of these will need to be imported into the new website and we’d be looking for the chosen developer to help identify the most efficient means to do this. In order to maintain search engine traffic we would also strive to retain our current URLs for existing content. For server management reasons we’re ideally looking for an ASP .NET solution. In order to minimise costs and build-time we’re seeking to build upon a popular Open Source or low-cost CMS software (eg. DotNetNuke or SiteEnable). HTML and CSS knowledge is needed to advise on template production and relevant database skills are required. XML/XSL knowledge – or a willingness to pick it up - would be useful. Creative ideas on Web 2.0-style enhanced navigation, by tags and so on, would be received well. We’d expect the developer to configure our server and install the software. From finalising the specification to launch, the project should take no more than 8 weeks, though we’d expect the amount of work involved to be no nearer 3-4 weeks for a single developer and budgeted accordingly. The project is likely to run from mid-April. The successful developer will be chosen on the basis of demonstrable experience with relevant software and similar projects plus testimonials from previous clients.
