I have no idea about price - lets discuss it.

I have a new, cheap but functioning desktop scanner.

Very basic, probably generic - does everything I need it to do and more.

It comes with a GUI and driver setup and i have installed it (Win10) and it works ok.

But I want it to do specific tasks only. So the software it comes with is not suitable for my purpose.

What I want is either -

1 - build me a custom GUI to access and drive the scanner so that it only performs the functions I want it to.

2 - disassemble (hack) the existing GUI to get the parts I need so that it performs the functions I want it to.

Yes - I can simply use the existing GUI but I dont want to, I have other plans.

I want it to -

scan to jpg - select colour or B&W

scan to pdf - select simple PDF or PDF with OCR

QR or barcode recognition functionality

I can provide a number of jpegs of the existing GUI for reference. I dont hate it - its pretty basic and clean and has lots of functionality, some of which I like, but i dont need it all.

I recommend you install the system I got with the scanner just so we can discuss what I want and dont want.

Existing driver/GUI

Can provide the installation files and drivers - its 398MB so i will use [login to view URL] to get it to you.

Language - unknown, but during the setup it installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2010

Custom build

Language you use - dont care.

Windows based system.

I can do live chat - prefer not video chat - text only.

I MAY also allow the successful freelancer remote access to my PC so that they can see the scanner in use.
