Scope: To create a Zen-Cart module that will allow users to sign into Zen-Cart with existing login information to sell products listed in my store to me. Buy price will be determined by current inventory quantity. Once their quote is submitted and verified of delivery, the users account will be credited and their products will be added to current inventory. Designs are done, only need to be skinned.
Current web site overview: My store sells virtual trading cards that are used in an online MMO video game. Instead of buying booster packs of 10 random cards, people come to my site to buy the exact card that they need and use it inside the game to play with. I then have to login to the game and email them the card with the in game email system. Some people buy massive amounts of booster packs and have cards that they don’t use or need. I have to give these people a quote then if they accept they send the cards over. I then have to verify the sent cards then login to Zen-Cart admin panel and update all the quantities. The game market will be changing and there will be a huge influx of cards entering the game. I’d like to automate my buy process to save time and help with restocking my store. New Module design:
• Currently there is only one Set of cards but future sets will come out. Users should be able to chose the set, then from there be able to see an alphabetical list of all cards in that set. They should be able to enter the quantities of those cards that they are looking to sell.
• I should be able to have the choice of what products I can put on the buy page.
• The users should be able to see how much I’m paying for each individual card
• Once they see the total that I’m offering for their cards they should be able to either accept the offer or reject it, or go back and edit their sell list quantities
• Once a user hits accept, I should receive an email stating that the user has accepted my offer on his cards and should list the cards they are selling.
• There should be a message on the page giving them instructions on how the process works. (or a place where I can edit the text) I can do this in the actual .php page too.
• This offer should go into some sort of queue. I’ll need to login to the game to verify that the cards have been received and once that is done, I’ll need to login to the admin panel and accept their offer which will credit their account and update my store inventory quantities.
• The back end admin functions should be added to the current Zen-Cart admin panel.
• In the admin panel I should have the ability to sent buy prices based on current stock of said product. Example: if there are less than 15 cards in stock then I’ll pay 15% off list price. If there are 16-40 cards in stock then I’ll pay 25% off list price. I should be able to have the ability to change the values in this formula. I would like to have at least 5 tiers. (example 0-15, 16-40, 41-80, 81-100, 100+)
• All modifications should use existing Zen-Cart database.
• Users should be able to login and see their balance of credit. This credit should be able to be used in the store to purchase more cards.
• Users should be able to login and request a payment. The Payment type will be Pay Pal. This transaction should end up in the ‘processing’ queue in Zen-Cart like all other orders showing a request for payment. I’m not sure if you could automate a Pay Pal payment from my store or if I’d have to do it manually. Either way is fine.
• Users should not be able to request a pay pal payment if their balance is less than $5.00
• I should also have the ability to change the amount of credit users have.
