Background High note is intended to be a student study support tool that facilitates the rapid aggregation and structuring of keynotes. Hi-Note realises this function through intuitively transferring highlighted or selected text anecdotes from a pdf document, while aggregating and structuring the text in real time in an end users preferred word processor. ** **Scenario A student begins to read a pdf journal article or e-book using their favourite pdf reader. The student activates the Hi-Note application, which automatically opens the student's favourite word processor in the background. As the student peruses the e-book, he/she highlights the most salient points for future reference to aid in writing an essay or preparing for an exam. As the student highlights these points, the Hi-Note application transfers the highlighted or selected text into the word document and structures the text as a bulleted list. Additionally, a student may want to place emphasis on certain points of the journal by highlighting the text using different colours. Hi-Note will replicate the text colour. Note, we have left some room for flexibility with this option, as you can choose which pdf reader and word processor to use. The most popular options are, Pdf readers- **Mac OSX Preview**, Adobe reader, **Foxit reader**, Word processors -(**Microsoft word-for Mac OSX or Windows, Open Office**. - As most pdf readers already have a highlight and select function, HiNote should **simply copy** the selected or highlighted text from the pdf reader to the word processor. - Each block of text pasted into the word processor should be structured in a bulleted list **Additional features** - Each block of text pasted into the word processor should also be highlighted in the same color as used for the pdf reader. **Alternatively, to reduce complexity, if any text is highlighted in ** **[][1]****a particular color e.g. red , it should be 'bold' in the word document.** - Each block of text pasted should have the corresponding page number from which it was copied from the pdf document. **e.g If text was copied from page 2 on pdf document, the block of text pasted into the word document should be followed by the number --2.** -The title of the word document should be the title of the pdf document.
