I am ready to give this project to the right person within 1 or 2 hours!! I already had a Python 2.7 script written to parse a large 1.6G XML file but it was running out of memory and apparently this is well known issue. After doing some googling a number of recommendations suggested using ElementTree or better still cElementTree with iterparse because it is more memory efficient but I am having some issues due to my lack of Python 2.7 experience. I believe this should be a very quick task for a competent Python programmer hence why I set a low budget. I can provide the script and also the sample XML files that need parsing and also provide further details to the winning bidder.

Hi there, I can do the job for you. I have extensive experience with Python and have been using it for over 15 years now including dealing with large data XML files (most of them for academic research with astrophysical data) and know of the issues you are currently running in to. I have gone ahead and placed a bid now and we can get started any time you are ready to begin. I don't expect the work to take 4 days, but I didn't want to over promise since deal with these kind of situations can lead to some unexpected road blocks sometimes for various reasons.
