Woocommerce Memberships and user registration

We have a website developed using Woocommerce and Woocommerce Memberships. We have a number of Membership Plans - all of the are free for the customers.
What we need is a small piece of code that does the following:
When a user registers an account on the site, we want the user to select one (and only one) Membership Plan - from a dropdownlist containing all Membership Plans.
Then the users account should be "connected" to the selected Membership Plan.
To make it easy we can create and edit the drop-downlist of Membership Plans, by editing the code that displays the dropdown-list.
That's it.
