The Payroll Specialist ensures that Harbor’s bi-weekly payroll is successfully processed, and all associated reporting and accounting functions are performed in an accurate and timely manner.
Essential Functions:
Create, update and maintain all employee payroll records to ensure accuracy of data including pay rates, employment details, withholding, deductions, and personal information.
Develop a working knowledge of all payroll policies including provider differentials, staff differentials, vacation, sick, and holiday pay rules.
Create files and transfer data between Harbor’s electronic time keeping system and the payroll system for bi-weekly payroll processing.
Maintain time keeping system, including creating schedules, historical edits, and user profile maintenance.
Calculate retroactive payments, PTO adjustments, and prepare manual checks as necessary.
Prepare payroll funding request and validate 403(b) deduction, ACH with benefit plan administrator.
Post payroll activity to the general ledger system.
Distribute bi-weekly payroll Labor Distribution Reports to management team.
Perform year-end calculations for ACA reporting, Health Insurance Value Reporting, Group Term Life, Imputed Income, and Auto Fringe Benefit.
Prepare reports for annual 403(b) audit, fiscal audit and Workers Compensation Audit.
Maintain and file all documentation related to payroll.
Perform ad hoc financial analysis on payroll.
