Periodic webcam image saver cron job script and admin panel.
Requirements: Apache, Mysql, PHP, javascript, using local xampp server.
This script creates a cron job to be run by the web server. It schedules and automates the downloading and saving of webcam images from the web periodically.
A frontend admin for the cron job allows users to quickly edit the script to add and edit cameras.
The script should also re-name the files on every save, so that 000001 is always the latest image. As new images are saved, 000001 becomes 000002, etc.
The script should build animated gif images for the last 10 images periodically.
The script should build .mp4 movie of last [x] images periodically.
This script needs to be able to be run as a cron job on the server. See attached image for the "frontend" admin panel for the cron job.
Enter webcam image url: [login to view URL]
Enter a name for the camera ie. "camera1"
-the script will use the name to create a directory in the filesystem. Images for this camera will be stored in this directory.
Script saves images periodically based on user specified "save interval" in seconds.
Enter interval to save images, every 5 min.
Enter number of images to save. Ie, 100.
Images are numbered like this: camera1.000001, camera1.000002, camera1.000003, camera1.000004
The latest image is always: 000001.
The script re-names the files on each update. So 000001 becomes 000002, 000002 becomes 000003, 000003 becomes 000004 at each interval.
Imagemagick or similar tool builds an animated gif of the last 10 frames.
-Enter time to hold each frame.
-Save new animated gif every 5 min. Name is "camera1".[login to view URL]
Generate .mp4 movie for last [x] frames.
