I currently run qmail on FreeBSD and a script called [login to view URL] which checks all incomming email on the server against a few rbl lists and writes a unique header (I do not think it blocks it currently) to the email if the email is found to be on one of the rbl lists. Instead, I would like this script to check incomming emails by looking at the originated IP address of the email message. If the originating IP address is located in the authorized list of IP's found at /etc/[login to view URL] then it should add a unique header to that email with the words: authorizedsender
I am not sure which would be lower load on the server, adding this header to unauthorized emails (which could be a LOT), or adding a good header to authorized emails. I think it would lower load to add the header to the authorized list as I expect that to be less header adding then to those which are unauthorized.
After working (hopefully without spiking the server load), I need a bit of help to write a .procmail rule which will send any emails with this header to a different ./Mailbox-spam folder (designated junk). I will then comment out the rbl checking portion of this script which is currently running (most likely).
Once chosen, I will attach an example copy of our [login to view URL] file which is always changing as it is updated each time someone authenticates POP3 and that IP is authorized for 30 min. We also have a few hardcoded IP's which are always authorized. This script must not harm our [login to view URL]'s ability to work as I am not sure if there would be a problem if this file was attempting to be read simultaneously by two different programs.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
4.) Since this is a small project, coder agrees that project must be completed in full for any and all payments. No partial payments will be made for partial work done.
