I have done this couple of months ago using Brother printer and enabled scan-to-mail from gmail to work emails. It can be done in one day.

I have worked on similar setups for Xerox, Canon, Lexmark in my previous company. However, I must inform you that gmail limits sending mails up to 500 per day.
