Programmer - Soil Sampling Sites on Farms. I need a program to locate soil sampling sites on farms for an auger type soil sampler to be used by farmers. The predetermined location points are planned to be found using a Google type map and latitude and longitude coordinates. I presume an “app” will have to be created and it must be very easy for a farmer to use the information displayed. The monitoring of soil carbon levels is to be used to allow the farmer to earn a form of “carbon credits” for removing CO2 from the atmosphere. The program must show up to 40 drilling sites on each farm. Each site has to have a code number attached of three figures (example 24Y or 18R). We can supply the actual location points. A sampling round is to be done every year. The information is to be displayed on a Tablet. Such as a Samsung Tab Active2. We will supply the equipment each time a sampling round is to be collected. It should take a couple of weeks to complete each yearly test round. The farmer/operator will be in a motor vehicle towing a small drilling unit. The operator will see “him-self” on the screen proceeding to the next drill site. When there he drills the next hole – they are about 500mm deep and 100mm in diameter. They will be probably about 50 metres apart on average. The accuracy in location of the drill rig has to be no better than about plus or minus 2 metres. When the farmer has taken a sample from a location it would be best that the farmer could then do something simple and easy to change the appearance of the location marker – say turn a small circle into a square, of change the colour of the marker – anything easy would do. It’s just to know that the location has been sampled.
