I need help with a machine learning project for finance and I need to know if I'm going on the right direction. Tell me if you are interested and available! Things to know: - A breakout is when the price is moving outside a defined support or resistance level with increased volume - A tick is a measurement of the minimum upward or downward movement in the price of a security Project description: I'm analysing tick-data from future contracts (derivatives) in Brazil. I already found a way to get all breakout points and now I'm analysing the scenarios before the breakout (volume in the last x minutes, volatility in the last x minutes, distance from moving averages, if moving average crossed in the last x minutes, players who were buying etc.) I know it may sound confusing at first but I can fully explain the dataset (which is well organized) and what I want. I use R. I read python. We can do in any of them. I can send you the files in excel with the data already cleaned. We can start from there. Specific instructions: Anyway, I'm having trouble selecting which is the best variable to "create". I have more than 12000 breakouts to analyse and its corresponding breakout strength (how far it went after it breakout). I hope to see some connection between volume, players who are buying/selling, indicators and other factors to see the best oportunities in the market. I'm also doing this as research for an academic paper. I will be waiting for your response! Thanks
