I need a script that will scan for WiFi and Bluetooth devices in the area. The point is to know when
new devices are showing up and to know which already have.
I need to find unique information from each device and if you know about this, you know that MAC addresses can change therefore, need what ever else I can get to match/confirm a device.
For Bluetooth I'm running btmon then hcitool lescan.
For wifi, I'm using 'nmcli dev wifi list' which is only showing APs.
I need to know when there are other wifi devices around such as cell phones, etc. One problem with the way I'm doing it is that it also shows duplicates repeatedly which is not very useful.
I need a script that will keep scanning on a regular basic (value in script) and turn what is found into variables that I can in turn put into a file.
I ve already worked with WiFi, I used Ubuntu, but I will figure it out if you use other distro. I can fullfill your requirements in bash and in other languages. You can have the documentation and ask me about anything.
