Marketing guru for new book series

We are looking for a savvy marketer who can drive sales to a new book series -- as the author. Think of it as reverse-ghostwriting. Instead of outsourcing the words, we're outsourcing the public persona. The successful candidate will demonstrate a mastery of online marketing (blog tours, ad campaigns etc) and brand-building. Anything goes, but keep in mind we know a flimsy plan when we see it. Moonshots are cool, but gravity still exists. The series is "pop" science fiction thriller. Aliens, space ships and laser guns, with a Marvel blockbuster-type vibe. A little sex, a little violence, and lots of funny banter. It's neither progressive nor anti-progressive, just a fun ride built to appeal to everyone. You will be the official author of record for this series. Your name will be on the cover, people will ask about your creative choices, and you'll be pressured to write sequels. You will likely have to do a lot of interviews, and pose for a few photos. If you are not comfortable with that, this job is not for you. What we provide: - the book, including polished text, cover and branding, print and ebook editions distributed internationally; - any marketing materials you need to do your job, including online and print ad design, guest blog posts and other collateral; - an author website made for you, to promote the series; - a separate marketing budget -- if you need adwords, we'll make it happen. What you provide: - yourself, as the author (photo, bio); - a plan for launching the series on the right foot; - availability to promote it; - regular budget and strategy updates so we can plan accordingly. There is a low stipend for the first 3 months, with monthly bonuses of 50% of all revenue generated by the series. The better you are, the more you can earn. We have a backend portal so you can review sales stats in realtime. If the first book goes well, we have more in the queue.
