Old school children's storybook style illustrations for a pitch proposal document

We are an experiential design studio known for creating fantastical large scale installations and productions worldwide. We are developing a pitch proposal document for a presentation for funding in January with weekly updates amongst our internal team and the selected artist. For this document we want a unique look that is evocative of children's bedtime story books. The illustrations need to be whimsical and playful but also hint at the deeper technology and magic we are bringing to the design of our project (See uploaded [login to view URL] reference image). This document will need to evolve over the time period with regular updates and notes as our team here gathers the essential content, so anticipate some iterations and some possible changes along the way. While these images should appeal to families with children, we don't want to shoot below millennials with the aesthetic. We trust our audience to be smart, savvy and adventurous. There will also be content that needs to be delivered legibly and respectfully (financials and legal etc.) so the design should be flexible enough to handle that (perhaps a graphical motif). The pitch document will evoke a traditional old school children's storybook depicting a journey through fantastical places. Think Brother's Grimm fairy tales, absolutely not Where is Waldo? We anticipate 25-30 illustrations referencing the overall theme, various experiences we are developing, and some of the optical illusion principles we will be deploying in the project. There will be a range in complexity of illustrations required as they only need to support the descriptive text rather than carry the narrative. In many cases they need only be stylistic details to link pages to the overall proposal. An example of a space we will be constructing is the uploaded Skyscraper image. This will be a set piece that allows participants to climb on a fake facade of a skyscraper while a friend photographs them against a printed backdrop of a city street. Ideally this scenario would be rendered in the storybook style we are looking for as if it were a natural occurrence in the world of this particular fairy tale. The intention is to make clear the method of the set-up while maintaining the fun the participants will be having playing in this unusual gravity defying set. The text accompanying the skyscraper illustration will read "Able to leap off of tall buildings in a single image!" Anticipate that this Skyscraper illustration would be among the most complex and there may be 20 or so like this. The remainder of the reference images will be provided to the artist we select for confidentiality reasons. Additionally a number of common domain illustrations have been uploaded for basic reference only. We expect that you will bring your own style and creative input to the finished artwork. Look at the uploaded images for their timelessness, ability to communicate an idea, their sense of whimsy and play as well as the range of complexity.
