Build a multi-language brochure site with blog for a financial start-up

Background: Financial firm started in September 2017 needs a brochure website to tell its story. The site conducts no buying or selling. The firm currently has a founder and is looking for its second employee to be COO. The site needs to show high quality to give confidence to any visitor. The site should look simple and convey trustworthiness. The company founder is intellectually curious, data-driven, humble, and honest -- all attributes that are reflected in the firm's business practice. We will be using Hubspot for analytics and tracking. Ideal web developer characteristics: - provide clean and sophisticated graphics - experience working with multi-language web sites - structural knowledge to optimize SEO (e.g. be familiar with HREFLANG tags to optimize SEO) - structural knowledge that raises Google visibility and avoids getting penalized by Google - honest and works quickly, maybe with Agile methodology Websites we LIKE: - [login to view URL]: home page has one of several great videos that plays and is fast load - [login to view URL]: clean looking, simple - [login to view URL]: looks great, text on homepage is meaningful - [login to view URL]: clean looking, simple Websites we DISLIKE: - [login to view URL]: too many boxes, people, links, ugly colors - [login to view URL]: too much stuff on the page - [login to view URL]: I don't want to see people on the home page - [login to view URL]: looks ugly with bad fonts and empty space; looks like from the 1990s - [login to view URL]: ugly with too many links Home Page: The home page will have a dynamic video visual, similar to what is currently on the home page of www.citadel.com. If you have resources to make an original, high quality video like theirs, your proposal will be greatly favored. If you can't, no problem, but you will have to work closely with whoever we get to make the video or videos. Homepage will have these links: ABOUT US, STRATEGY, INSIGHTS, CLIENT LOGIN. I will provide text for the ABOUT US and STRATEGY section, which will each be just one page. CLIENT LOGIN should be a dummy link for now, but eventually, will take clients to their account specific website. You will not work on the CLIENT LOGIN in this initial build out of the web site. No buttons, only links. Multi-Language: Entire site is multi-lingual: English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese. Default language is English. You do not need to translate my text for the ABOUT US or STRATEGY sections. We rely on you to get find the local language versions of basic words like "About Us", "Strategy", and use them to populate the links on the each language page. It is important that you have a clear proposal for the organization of a multi-language web site. We want all pages to be contained within a single site, however. Therefore, we won't buy more domain names. Perhaps generic sub-domains may work (e.g. [login to view URL]). We are open to your suggestions. Whatever is built, web site maintenance must be simple. Insights Page: The INSIGHTS page acts as a home page for the blog. Each blog posting is translated from the original English into Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese. INSIGHTS page has the most recent blog posting on it, and a menu along the right side that has links by year. Clicking on the link shows all blog posts from that year. The INSIGHTS page also has horizontal links on the top that show blog categories: EQUITIES, CREDIT, RATES, FX, PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT & RISK, OTHER. Clicking on any of these links shows all blog postings that fit under that topic. Clicking on any of the language links (e.g. ES for Spanish, Mandarin character for Mandarin, Korean character for Korean, etc.) renders the current page into the equivalent local language version. The site allows our web team to very quickly insert the blog posting in Japanese, for instance, into the Japanese sub-domain. Ease of use is important.
