Build a Website

Hello to all you web designers out there. The project I have is truly a one-of-a-kind project, one that requires a very specific set of skills to be able to tackle. Please read to the very end to get a good idea of my expectations before responding. I am a health coach of 20+ yrs. practicing functional medicine. For those of you who might not be knowledgeable about functional medicine, allow me the space of this paragraph to explain briefly. Functional medicine is a new paradigm in natural treatment which seeks to find the cause of a person's illness, and proceeds to enable that person to recover from the illness and regain vibrant health again. That is done by a very specific set of lab tests, looking into that person's medical history, and piecing together how that person's genetic makeup have been influenced by environment, lifestyle, and other factors to create their chronic condition. I share all the above with you, not because you need to know all the nuances of functional medicine, but rather because I need the individual or company who takes on this project to be able to not only understand my vision for healing people, but to be able to grasp it, and identify with it on a greater level. The vision is this: I have purchased the rights to the domain name [login to view URL] for the sole purpose of creating a world class website dedicated to healing people. This website will be launched first here in the USA, and will function to do the following. 1. It will be a portal through which people suffering from chronic disease can go to get the latest answers on how to get better from their condition. 2. It will be a platform that will bring together health coaches (who practice functional medicine) from all over the US, and will link them with the aforementioned clients. It will be much more than a directory for health coaches, let me be absolutely clear on that. It will be a large scale undertaking which will link health coaches to people suffering from chronic conditions. What I am looking for is not an average web design company or individual who can create a flashy design. Where I live in Seattle, there are plenty of places that will gladly create such a website for me. I am seeking an individual who can conform to the following: 1. Understand and be fluent in the US market, not only in English as a language, but for Americans as consumers. 2. Come prepared to offer two important resources, and your ideas for what can be implemented through this website. a. Give me some of your own ideas as to what software, tools, multi media, and other technologies can be used on the website itself to increase and improve coach-to-client interaction. Whether it be a new form of video conferencing, a cutting edge application, or otherwise, bring some new idea to the table to impress me. Understand, this website is dual purpose. It will serve the needs of the clients who suffer from chronic, debilitating conditions, but it will also be a forum and conduit through which health coaches can hone their craft. It must be a world class website that will accurately reflect the name Life Changing. If you are a web design company based outside of the US, I am not opposed to that, however, please understand I need a designer that understands the mindset and nuances of the American consumer.
