Rewrite Rakumba Website and Redesign Responsive Version

Recode Wordpress website [login to view URL] following best practice design and coding standards to significantly improve speed. Redesign the smartphone/tablet version (responsive layout) but leave standard desktop version unchanged. This is a Design and Development project - hence you must have Design and Development skills. Rakumba has recently released our new website - [login to view URL] (also redirects from [login to view URL]) - we now need this website translated to a new responsive version and the site rewritten - the current responsive version is inadequate when viewed from tablets and smartphones - the responsive design is poor and the performance (speed) on all platforms is very slow. Please review our existing responsive website and in your proposal: * Identify the key issues with the responsive version of our site * Propose how you will address these issues * Indicate how the new responsive version will be accessed when a tablet or smartphone user accesses our website * Indicate the process you will follow, and what our involvement in this process will be, including any information you will need from us, what steps we will be involved in and when, and so on * Provide a high level project plan showing key design and development milestones. * Present examples of responsive layout websites you consider to be excellent * Identify all expenses we will incur during the design, development and implementation - including your fee and any other expenses * Outline what support you will provide for our website after implementation, what support costs are involved and the key SLA associated with your support offering Note that we are not requesting you to re-design or re-write our existing site - but instead to develop the new responsive version. The only exception to this is that we would like any inconsistencies and bugs in the current design rectified during the rewrite process. Additional items in scope: * SEO according to latest industry best practice * Site architecture to ensure search engines can understand it efficiency * Usability (design) to ensure target users understand the site and get a great experience from it – present and implement agreed recommendations regarding any navigation issues you see with the current site * Lazy Load functionality – as part of the rewrite, the Lazy Load needs to be significantly improved, so the home page loads quickly, and so that the Design Folio page loads quickly in particular * Ensure all images are optimized/file sizes are optimized for performance as well as displaying in high resolution when appropriate * Security - Ensure site is secure, private pages not accessible, file structure is not accessible, all reasonable security precautions have been taken * Flexibility - Some section key images are coded in such a way that the image has to be a large height (eg. About section image on Home Page and About Page key image) – we would like to use shorter images but current code is inflexible and we can’t modify this through the Wordpress back end – this is a deficiency of the current site, for example, if we change the height of the image on the About section of the home page, then the home page layout is ruined. We need to be able to change the large images from time to time, with the site layout adjusting correctly and automatically without other code changes required. Additionally, it is important that we have flexibility to change fonts, font colours/sizes etc. and also to change full-width image heights * Hosting assessment - Critically compare current hosting service vs. others on the local Australian market (or others in general) with the aim of recommending the service that will best support Rakumba’s requirements for speed/optimized performance
