Member of the HR team that will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in daily data entry ADP Workforce Now Payroll processing.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivering reports to audit system payments and calculations as out-of-job, overtime, minimum wage, penalty pay, and double time.
Generating and analyzing queries and other system reports
Performing manual calculation of paychecks (FLSA overtime, garnishment and 401k deductions, income tax and Earned Income Credit) to ensure accurate payment is made
Coding forms according to ensure proper accounting and pay rates are assigned
Inputting and verifying staff payments/deductions such as direct deposit, W-4’s, uniform deductions, IOU deductions
Processing and tracking payment of benefit hours for terminations, reclassifications and advance, ensuring proper taxation and penalties for such payments are assessed
Performing research and providing specific information to staff to resolve payroll issues and discrepancies by utilizing knowledge of the payroll system and guidelines set in the Lusamerica Policies
Presenting electronic pay and payroll services to groups of individuals such as new hires, management teams, etc.
Oversee paycheck distribution which includes counting, separating, and sorting paychecks for distribution
Ability to work with fast paced Human Resources Department
Researching/ locating missing checks and replacing when necessary
Must be able to deal with sensitive and confidential information and respond to inquiries
Expected to work in a customer service oriented environment resolving non-routine payroll problems with a focus on customer satisfaction
Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication
Attention to detail
Performing other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
Working in a fast-paced;
AA or equivalent combination of education and 2 years of experience
1-2 years experience processing multi-state payroll
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to write simple correspondence
Ability to respond common inquiries or complaints from staff or regulatory agencies
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform these operations in American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variable in standardized situations
Knowledge of federal, state and other labor laws
Background in employment, compensation, benefits and employee relations
Demonstrated strong work ethic, personal integrity and confidentiality on sensitive matters
Creative problem solver with strong written and oral communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ADP payroll software
Self-directed with the ability to keep up in a very fast-paced environment
Able to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization
Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication
