Hi all! I am interested in having a well-built prediction model, which will gather data and stats through feeds from NBA stats websites (there is an available NBA api), process them and calculate odds and lines for NBA games (total points expected per team (so handicap result and win probability) and total game points expected per game. Additionally, I would like to have player projections for the upcoming games (points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, 3pointers scored, probability for double/double and triple double + any other stat that could be possibly interesting (FG, FT, fouls etc)). There are various models available, a ton of stats and a lot of people online who analyze their models, their methodologies and their results. I am open to any of you who is willing to put some effort on this and come up with the "best" model (2018 and previous season's stats are available to test any model-attempt) for this particular situation. Usability is key, the file should run smooth and be easy to edit. For more in the chat.

Hi, Let me walk you through, with the nature of this task, i don't know about the variables, but i let you, this task can be done in two most important steps, number 1, we will have to run sensitivity analysis test for each variable and its impact on the result, might be linear regression or logistic can be handy but, it will all depend on the data, second and the most important thing is prediction model, as far as in my data engineering career, i have seen neural network and clustering as a best option for prediction, but rest will depend on the data. This is an interesting project actually and would be a good addition to my portfolio as well. If you are interested in using an api I would suggest Python as it would be much faster and has obvious advantages in data analysis and use of large data samples. You can get the results in excel format at any frequency you wish. In this case do message me and we can discuss more. I do similar things for my clients who are in finance (see my portfolio) and as you know large data sets are common and speed and accuracy critical.

First of all, your project seems very interesting. I think it will be a real challenge to work upon this and thus I am bidding for it. Except for the skills that you have mentioned, it would for sure require tools liked Python or R. As I am comfortable with Python, I will solve it using the same. This project would need some basic knowledge of basketball and as I follow NBA regularly (I am really sad for Dubs), I think I have got that point covered. This project would require trying various algorithm like neural networks, random forest etc. and as I am proficient in these techniques, I will be a good pick.
