1) Develop a spread sheet for each geometric element (follow the handout I provided) for trapezoid and circular cross sections.
2) Build a spread sheet to determine normal depth, based on discharge and specific characteristics, for the above geometries.
3) Review the Caltrans bioswale design manual (available here: [login to view URL] )and note typical design requirements. Is the BWELL swale designed accordingly? List the design requirements and note the current swale characteristics in a table.
4) Develop a plot of normal flow depths for a typical cross section of the swale. Determine the normal depth for 1-year, 5-year, 10-year, and 25-year storm intervals. What are manning’s n values did you use to determine these depths? Justify.
5) Evaluate the channel stability under the flow rates determined above, pretending there is no vegetation, would you predict erosion? You will have to assume a channel d50. Evaluate the rip-rap stability at the bottom of the swale (below the last weirs).
6) Provide an analysis of culvert flow (type, maximum discharge and performance) under 1, 5, and 25-year storm events for the culverts under the bike path at BWELL and one of the inlet culverts form the adjacent parking lot.

hello,
I am a registered civil engineer and have good command over the hydrology subject.
I am new here but Top rated on U P W O R K platform.
I can help you better in this assignment.
