Raspberry Pi and dot matrix display

Its a pretty straight forward project, the max 7219 is a good option for the display cheap and efficient ( you might have to power it externally ) and as for messages i would propose instead of having a rigid selection, letting the user control that would be much better since we are using the pi we can say use wifi of the pi and have a web server to which users can go to and change the settings how ever they want instead of manually controlling it, feel free to text me back so that we can discuss further.

Hello. This is an interesting project. Can you confirm that it is NOT a college assignment please? You listed "PCB layout" in the required skills, but - as far as I can tell - this requires mainly programming work plus some basic schematic design / wiring. I propose to begin testing with my Raspberry Pi 1 or 3 initially - taking the time and date from the Linux operating system. Then I can order and test with a Raspberry Pi Zero and RTC module in due course. I can write the code in C, C++ (using the WiringPi library) or Python. If you want me to investigate please let me know as soon as possible - as I would need to order the dot matrix displays. The parts would cost approx. 5000 INR I think (depending on if you need 2 or 4 dot matrix displays). I would need to include at least part of those costs in the bid price. I would be able to start on this as soon as the components arrive (probably Tuesday or Wednesday). Can you confirm that you want a 1x4 rather than a 4x4 keypad? I am based in Ireland. Please note the timezone difference.
