Hi there, This is Bogdan from Romania. I'm a mechanical engineer - specialized in the industrial robotic field, 3D designer and modeler (from time to time and some projects I could make the functional prototype too). I'm doing product design, industrial design, reverse engineering, ideation, etc. I have over 15 years experience working on various systems/devices across multiple industries, from concept to launch. 1 - will be necessary to know more details about the platform (the weight needed to be moved, precision, accuracy, repeatability, the speed of the travels on x and y axis, attenuation if required, etc, etc), all of them mounted on a metallic frame with possible enclosure, 2 - while already exist on the market positioning platforms, is ok to design your own, but need to know how much should be used ots components and how much custom made... 3 - best solution (but depends on the characteristics) is to have the linear bearings/guide, driven by stepper motors (eventually micro-steppers) with their controllers and ball screws... (but the architecture remains to be determined..) 4 - while i could design the platform and will work flawlessly, i can't make the controlling part (the connection with the computer or plc)... we could discuss all the details here...
