Hello,
Thank you for the opportunity to bid on your job and I hope to be able develop the performance monitoring solution.
As I read through the job posting I thought of a couple of questions that would assist in determining the best implementation strategy. Can you tell me which SQL Server version and edition you are using since the SQL Server version and edition will help me in determining the best solution? Performance monitoring could be accomplished through an SQL Server Agent Job running specific SELECT statements that insert data into a table. Would this be okay?
In my current fulltime position, I accomplish a lot of performance monitoring, tweaking, and notification. So I have many years of achieving what you need. Besides performance work, I have been an SQL Server administrator for over 15 years, starting with SQL Server 2005.
If you selected my proposal as the winning bid, I would start by:
1. Discuss ideas about using a stored procedure vs. other ways
2. Document path forward and present the document to you
3. Once the path forward approved, complete the work and implement the solution
Best regards,
Scott McCullock
