Kubernetes: deploy ArangoDB

Overview: We are looking for talent to join our organization. We will be doing fixed-price, task-based jobs to find top talent. This is an entry level task in the category of cloud and database engineering. There will be more work for top talent in this category. Who we are: We help startups and SMEs that are related to each other in some way with their bootstrapping process: we develop and maintain their IT infrastructures in an integrated way and build synergetic services between them. What & why: The big picture is we will be migrating our existing databases to ArangoDB and improving integration of the database with other services. Right now, we are taking baby steps in this direction. The anchor of this project will be Kubernetes as it is platform-independent and works on a variety of cloud providers. We are using GCE mostly but could make the switch to any other Kubernetes-supported cloud provider in the future. Tech Specs: Set up the latest stable version of ArangoDB: - on a Coogle Cloud Container Engine cluster with 1 machine (1vCPU, 1.7GB RAM) - use kubernetes .yaml files to do it (infrastructure as code) - use RocksDB as the storage engine for ArangoDB. - make a singleton database instance; _not_ a clustered/replicated/sharded database. - be production ready: relevant security and surrounding cloud infrastructure; able to log in and use the database remotely with username/password. - persist data to a cloud disk that is not destroyed if the container is restarted. - write comments in your work. - use GIT and make at least 3 commits with appropriate comments. - attribute authors and sources when using someone else's work. - deadline is 3 days from start of job. Important notes: - good written an spoken english is a must. - you should not be doing everything 'from scratch', I expect you to find and use someone else's work and extend or modify as necessary. - add the words: i am a reader, in the title of your application to show you read this carefully. - you will be competing against other candidates doing this same task to find top talent amongst you. Expected results: I expect: - to receive a .zip file with kubernetes .yaml files and a GIT repository with no less than 3 commits. - the zip file must have a [login to view URL] for deployment if it is not self-evident or strays from basic kubernetes usage.
