Hello I would like to have a couple of designs made for a three phase electric motor that I can make using stator plates cut by CNC. I would like it to have a capacity of 300Kw or 2 (150Kw units) and fit within a space of 16"X16"X24". I would like it to be as efficient as possible and I am open to architecture suggestions and am currently looking at a reverse out-runner. I am evaluating the option of building an electric motor for a car. The car and motor will be available under an open source license so while I would like to optimize for efficiency and weight I would also like it to be feasible for others to build from some fabricated parts. Overview: I would like the motor to have a peak capacity of 300Kw or about 400hp. A comparable motor by performance and weight is the AMR Dual Stack 250-90 AC. See: [login to view URL] However there is a two year backorder on this motor so it is effectively not available. The motor design can occupy more physical space than the AMR though. Up to 24" length by 16" diameter would be fine. A possible implementation of the motor could be based on the following example: [login to view URL] This is a 45Kw 3 Phase brushless motor. The new motor design could be based on several of these motors connected by a single output shaft with ball bearings between them. It could be powered in series so that the each individual motor unit can run on 150-200V while the whole unit can run on up to 1200V. For example: stator diameter / plate width, plate material, number of poles, wire gauge, turns, number of parallel wires, voltage. current, torque and efficiency estimates at a few power/RPM values. I have working experience with Radial and Axial Flux motors. In Radial Flux, I have designed Outrunner motors and Inrunners motors(SPM and IPM topology). For your task, we can go for Outrunner motor as suggested by you, and I will perform FEA for your motor for torque, back emf, torque ripple, Flux field in the stator. Dear, Our team consists of two electrical engineers with 4 years of experience working in the field of electromagnetism and one mechanical engineer. We have previous experience with the development of electric motor in the range of 300 to 400 HP intended to use in electric car. The development of the 400 HP motor for electric car took 6 months. It was a very serious project for well-known electric car producer. The development of such product consists of 7 phases: 1. Design the initial 2D model of stator and rotor in ANSYS Maxwell based on the experience (the model is close to 400 HP) - (4 days) – 960 USD 2. Setting up the optimization based on a genetic algorithm – 6240 USD a. Parametrization of stator slots (3 days) b. Parametrization of rotor permanent magnets slots and the shape of PMs (3 days) c. Parametrization of number of turns (2 days) d. Optimization period – (21 days) 3. Electromagnetic calculation of optimized model (ANSYS Maxwell) – torque, losses, etc. (4 days) – 960 USD 4. Mechanical calculation of optimized model (ANSYS Workbench) – (10 days) – 2400 USD a. Stress analysis b. Fatique analysis 5. Design and calculation of motor housing (SolidWorks+ANSYS) (15 days) – 2880 USD 6. Heating and cooling calculation (ANSYS Fluent)-(23 days) – 4800 USD a. Coupled calculation - Maxwell + Fluent 7.
