My last position before going "rogue" - or freelancing, I was the regional leasing manager for a real estate portfolio consisting of 18.2M square feet of industrial, commercial, warehouse and office properties. This may not seem so impressive but just give me a second, this is my wind up.
My longest running responsibility over the 11 years that I was with my former employer was reviewing all legal and lease documents for::
- content and accuracy of drafts;
- inquiries by tenants (I am fluent in legalese thanks to my role as the interpreter for our tenants);
- in prep for litigation and/or negotiation;
- drafting summaries for lease files.
I don't know exactly how many legal documents I've made my eyes bleed for, but definitely in the thousands and I confidently consider myself a contracts specialist.
In any event, good luck!
